About US

Nestled in the heart of India’s Silicon Valley is Electronic City – home to Melwin Bongs (registered trust), a socio-cultural community that brings together Bengali families residing in Prestige Sunrise Park. Formed in mid-2019, we are bound by our shared love of everything in the region – from its illustrious art and culture, distinct food, quintessential festivals, and the unparalleled adda, intrinsic to every Bengali.

Our community is a melting pot of cultures – from those who have moved to Bangalore merely a few months ago, to those who were born in the city.

In a short few months, we have grown to 25 families – enabling us to host two very successful Saraswati Puja, a grand Durga Puja, Lakhshmi Puja and two picnics to get to know each other.

A very warm welcome to Melwin Bongs!

Last year, when a bunch of Bengalis in Prestige Sunrise Park, gathered around an open amphitheater in grounds of our society with cha (tea) and shingara (samosa), we never imagined that it would lead to the creation of a community.

Today, we are a family of little over 70 people as Bengalis from all over India, and across seas are starting to make Prestige Sunrise Park their home.

As Trustees of this community, we have been at the forefront of its successes over the last few months, and hope to be part of its future glories.
